First produced in France in the 18th Century, this rugged cotton twill fabric gained traction thanks to Levi Strauss, a German immigrant and Jacob Davis, a tailor, who collaborated in the 1870’s to create reinforced work pants using denim, fastened with copper rivets.
Fast forward to today and denim is still stealing the show. They have lived every trend imaginable…flares, skinnies, ripped, patched, classic, coloured or embellished.
